Work permit is a generic term for a legal authorization which allows a person to take employment. It is most often used in reference to instances where a person is given permission to work in a country where one does not hold citizenship.
 
Employer:
 
A legal entity that controls and directs a servant or worker under a contract of employment and pays him or her salary or wages in compensation.
 
Employee:
 
A person who is hired to perform a job in a company or for anybody individually in return for financial or other compensation.
 
Employment:
 
The act of giving someone a job and the work in which one is engaged under a specific terms.
